Who is Marty?<\/h1>\t\t

Marty was first and foremost the nickname given to me by my family and foreign friends, before becoming the community space it is today. After my studies and a year in Australia, I arrived on the Basque Coast in 2008 with dreams of an endless summer. <\/p>\n

As someone who loves Australia, I realized very quickly that I wanted to split my time between the Basque Country and the southern coast of Australia, but like every surf lover, I travel with my boards. Every trip comes with its share of surprises, but also with breakages\u2014and therefore costs! While it’s easy to find boards for beginners, it’s harder to rent good equipment. <\/p>\n

In 2016, I came up with the idea of making it easier for visitors to the region to access the waves along the Basque Coast. High-performance, high-quality boards that allow experienced surfers to rent a board tailored to their needs. <\/p>\n

So I launched martysurfdelivery.com, an online surfboard rental site that offers home delivery. Foreign surfers appreciate the service, and I enjoy giving them information about surf spots, restaurants, and things to do in the Basque Country and the Landes region. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Monkey business<\/h2>\n

I loved it so much that the following summer, I bought \u201cBiarritz By Locals,\u201d a small inbound travel agency started by a couple of friends that offers cultural, culinary, and sports tours in the Basque Country. Two years later, the company expanded its offerings to include bike and e-bike rentals on martybikerental.com, as well as a new surf guide service through Marty Surf Delivery. <\/p>\n

In 2019, I opened Marty Surf Shop, a store dedicated to selling technical surf gear, unique items, and local souvenirs from the Basque Coast.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Why I Love Being a Surf Instructor<\/h2>\n

I\u2019ve always taken the time to advise my clients on surf spots, but that\u2019s not all\u2026 The Basque Country is also known for its way of life, culture, cuisine, and a multitude of places to discover. I love seeing people come in to rent a surfboard or a bike, or just to buy a T-shirt, and leave with their heads full of tips and a desire for adventure. It was this desire to pass on and share my experience in the field that inspired me to start a surf guiding service\u2014and I hope that, in doing so, I can help ensure that you leave happy, with your head full of wonderful memories! <\/p>\n

Beyond this desire to share, the ocean is, for me, a magnificent place and an incredible playground. The Basque Country and the Landes are the best places to have fun and thrive. However, if you arrive without knowing the area, it can be difficult to find the right spots and places to go. <\/p>\n

You often have to think outside the box to surprise yourself and find perfect waves. When I travel, I love meeting people to get tips on surf spots and the local surf culture. By offering this surf guide service, I share my knowledge with you and give you a glimpse into our lifestyle in the Basque Country and the Landes region. <\/p>\n

I’m passionate about surfing and the ocean; I’ve spent most of my time searching for good waves, and now I want to help fellow surfers and aspiring surfers find the best spots. I hope to share my love for the Basque Country and surfing with you and make your trip unforgettable.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t
