Surf in Biarritz<\/h2>\n

Surfing was born in Biarritz in 1956 when Californian filmmaker Peter Viertel arrived on the beach at “C\u00f4te des Basques” with his surfboard. Recognized from that point on as the birthplace of surfing, Biarritz would quickly become its capital in France; renowned for its variety of spots (beach breaks, reef breaks, point breaks) and for its culture.<\/p>\n

Surfing along the Basque Coast requires a good understanding of the spots, the swell, the wind, and the tides; in fact, it often takes several years of experience to understand how it all works.<\/p>\n

Marty offers to share his knowledge and experience with you so you don’t miss out on a great surfing session in Biarritz and along the Basque Coast.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What does the surf guide include?<\/h2>\n

Before planning the day, you can chat with Marty via text or email to discuss your expectations for your surfing session and your skill level. What kind of wave do you prefer to surf? What surfboard do you want to use?<\/p>\n

Once we’ve gone over all these questions together, Marty will suggest a date and time for the appointment. On the day of the tour, he’ll pick you up at your hotel, Airbnb, or rental, and then you’ll check out different spots where Marty will explain how they work.<\/p>\n

Once you’ve decided on a spot together, you’ll go surfing for 1 hour and 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

On the way back, Marty will take the opportunity to share his top picks for restaurants, bars, and things to do when there aren’t any waves. You can even choose to eat at a small local restaurant (surfing + lunch package).<\/p>\n

After that, the surf spots along the Basque-Landes Coast will hold no secrets for you, and you\u2019ll have everything you need to go surfing on your own or with your friends during your next trip to Biarritz.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

We rented multiple bikes and a surf board for our vacation in Biarritz and Marty was the absolute best person to deal with! Nous avons lou\u00e9 trois v\u00e9los \u00e9lectriques afin d'effectuer une balade \u00e0 v\u00e9lo.\n\nD\u00e8s le d\u00e9part, nous avons eu l'impression de d\u00e9ranger le commer\u00e7ant lorsque nous l'avons appel\u00e9, alors que son magasin \u00e9tait pourtant indiqu\u00e9 comme \u00e9tant ouvert toute la journ\u00e9e. Il est finalement arriv\u00e9 cinq minutes plus tard pour nous remettre les v\u00e9los.\n\nMalheureusement, ceux-ci n'\u00e9taient pas en tr\u00e8s bon \u00e9tat. L'un des v\u00e9los d\u00e9raillait syst\u00e9matiquement d\u00e8s que nous passions sur une bosse ou une irr\u00e9gularit\u00e9 de la route. Un probl\u00e8me particuli\u00e8rement d\u00e9sagr\u00e9able lorsque l'on emprunte la voie verte, qui n'est pas totalement plate et comporte plusieurs passages irr\u00e9guliers.\n\n\u00c0 notre retour, nous avons signal\u00e9 ce dysfonctionnement. Nous avons alors \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9\u00e7us par le manque de consid\u00e9ration apport\u00e9 \u00e0 notre remarque. Aucun mot d'excuse, aucun signe de regret ou d'int\u00e9r\u00eat pour le probl\u00e8me rencontr\u00e9. La seule r\u00e9ponse obtenue a \u00e9t\u00e9 : \u00ab Si vous voulez vous laver les mains, le lavabo est derri\u00e8re. \u00bb\n\nCette attitude, associ\u00e9e \u00e0 l'\u00e9tat du mat\u00e9riel lou\u00e9, nous a laiss\u00e9 une impression tr\u00e8s mitig\u00e9e de cette exp\u00e9rience.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

Have several times hired a bodyboard and fins along with a wet suit at a reasonable price and Marty and Nino were very helpful and prompt to make sure that they were available when I showed up. Will definitely use the facilities again and Bidart beaches are great.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
