You need to consider your skill level, weight, height, and wave conditions. To make it easier for you to choose on our website, we\u2019ve put together three key points to help you pick the right board.  <\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SURFING TASKS SUITABLE FOR YOUR SKILL LEVEL<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You&#8217;ll be using your board, so it&#8217;s important to assess your skill level. You need to be humble, because if you overestimate your skill level, you&#8217;ll choose a board that will limit your progress.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are 3 levels (Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert): <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>IF YOU&#8217;RE A BEGINNER:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019ve just started surfing or have only surfed a few times. You love being in the water and want to learn, but you keep falling during your sessions. It\u2019s important to know that at this stage, it\u2019s best to stay where you can touch the bottom; you can head out to the lineup if there are small waves, or otherwise stay in the whitewater.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have a wide selection of beginner <a href=\"https:\/\/www.martysurfdelivery.com\/fr\/quiver-surf\/planches-debutant\/\">surfboards,<\/a> suitable for all weights and sizes. These boards are perfect for making rapid progress and getting your first taste of surfing.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this stage, we strongly recommend using foam boards. They have the perfect volume for paddling and catching waves easily. The stability of these boards makes it easy to find your balance and, most importantly, they\u2019ll forgive minor mistakes. This way, you\u2019ll learn quickly and safely how to stand up (your first takeoffs) and change direction.    <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>IF YOU ARE AN INTERMEDIARY:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You surf regularly or have a solid foundation from several surfing vacations. You paddle out to the lineup and can get past the break by doing the \u201cduck dive\u201d on a shortboard or the \u201cturtle dive\u201d on a longboard. Basically, you can surf waves under one meter, you\u2019ve got the takeoff down most of the time, and you can ride the wave.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you start feeling comfortable in small waves, it\u2019s time to switch to a mini-malibu. You\u2019re not afraid, and you can surf both small waves and powerful waves over one meter. You\u2019re able to make tight turns, long arcs, and even perform maneuvers. You don\u2019t have to pull off every maneuver, but you manage to do so regularly.      <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At this point, we know you want high-performance boards. Whether it&#8217;s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.martysurfdelivery.com\/fr\/quiver-surf\/planches-longboard\/\">longboard <\/a>or a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.martysurfdelivery.com\/fr\/quiver-surf\/planches-performance\/\">shortboard<\/a>, you want a board that&#8217;s maneuverable and suited to the waves and your style.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You have your own preferences when it comes to board shapes and fins. Whether you&#8217;re tall, short, slim, or stocky, if you&#8217;re just starting out in surfing, you should choose a board with plenty of volume. A high-volume board is easy to paddle, which means you&#8217;ll catch as many waves as possible and, as a result, improve quickly.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the rest of you surfers, it\u2019s important to know that your board\u2019s dimensions are proportional to your height and weight. To put it more clearly, the heavier you are, the longer, wider, and thicker your board should be. Board lengths are measured in feet (1 foot = 30.48 cm), so don\u2019t worry\u2014a longboard isn\u2019t going to be 9 meters long.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;ve implemented an algorithm on our website to help you choose a board based on your body type. Feel free to use it to find the perfect board in our Quiver.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Choosing a board based on your weight and height isn\u2019t an exact science; the best way is to try out several boards until you find the perfect one. Renting is also a great way to test out different boards to help you choose the right one for your future purchase.   <\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li>SURFING BASED ON CONDITIONS (WAVES)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For all skill levels and body types, it\u2019s essential to understand how to choose a surfboard based on the waves. The right choice is the one that will give you the most fun based on the size and type of wave you\u2019ll be surfing. Today, there\u2019s no single surfboard that\u2019s perfectly suited for all wave conditions. However, there are different boards for different types of waves. In fact, if you want to surf every day, you\u2019ll likely need to use different surfboards to adapt to the weather and different spots, so don\u2019t hesitate to call us and switch boards.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let&#8217;s take a closer look at the different conditions: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>FOR SMALL, GENTLE WAVES (NOT POWERFUL)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We don\u2019t want to generalize, but these are often the summer conditions we see in France. In any case, to have fun in small, weak waves, you should choose a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.martysurfdelivery.com\/fr\/quiver-surf\/planches-hybrid\/\">mini-Malibu<\/a> (hybrid) or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.martysurfdelivery.com\/fr\/quiver-surf\/planches-longboard\/\">longboard<\/a> to catch the wave easily. These are the perfect conditions for long turns and \u201cnoseride\u201d sessions! You can also opt for voluminous shortboards or fish boards. In any case, it\u2019s best to choose a short board that isn\u2019t too wide and has some rocker (a board that isn\u2019t flat). Simply put, you need a shortboard. The ideal volume and size will depend on your preferences and body type, but if you want to get the most out of it, you should choose a <a href=\"https:\/\/martysurfdelivery.com\/fr\/quiver-surf\/planches-performance\/\">shortboard<\/a>\u2014preferably a high-performance one. Rocker is important to keep the nose from diving into the bottom of the wave\u2026 Rocker also helps you execute maneuvers in sections where the wave has a sharp curve.    <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dev.martysurfdelivery.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/vague-1205x800.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-466\" style=\"width:704px;height:468px\" width=\"704\" height=\"468\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">FOR BIG, SLOW-MOVING WAVES<br\/><br\/>The famous Parlementia wave! For this type of wave, it\u2019s best to have a large board with a well-designed shape\u2014one that\u2019s big enough to catch the wave easily. You need to paddle fast, so you\u2019ll want a board with volume and\/or length. Since the wave is big, it will allow skilled surfers to carve beautiful turns and even pull off maneuvers.
