The spot has a sandy bottom with a few scattered rocks. It works best at mid-tide, with swell ranging from 1 to 1.5 meters and an east wind. Beginners are advised to go around low tide (three hours before to three hours after).
For those interested in local culture, a short distance inland lies the small village of Bidart—an authentic Basque village featuring a town hall square facing the *fronton* (pelota court). You can grab a bite to eat at the bustling summer cafés or, if you are feeling athletic, try your hand at Basque pelota or *pala* (at the Trinquet Elissaldia)—sports that are quintessential to the region.
